OK, 2021 - No Pressure!

Crain's Detroit Business - December 14

After the painful disaster that was 2020, we all have great expectations of the New Year. Better health - including several COVID-19 vaccines, an economic recovery that puts families back on stable financial ground, and a return to some kind of recognizable "normalcy" (whatever that will look like) in how we work and go to school. Let's not set ourselves up for disappointment, OK? This disaster wasn't wrought in a day, or a week, or even a month; so fixing it all will take some time. Let the new kid get his footing before we start railing about what he's NOT getting done.
That's the Point!

Cartoon of the Week: New Year, New Start

The News-Herald - December 31
Another New Year, another new start. This is the greeting I shared with my readers Downriver as we said goodbye to 2017 and welcomed 2018. The sentiment applies to all my friends and family as well. Look ahead, make some personal headlines. Like the newspapers in which my cartoons appear, not all headlines are happy, but the stories are ours to write. I hope all my readers, and all my family and friends are the authors of wonderful personal stories in 2018! Happy New Year!

CARTOON of the DAY: 2012 - The Job Ahead

The News-Herald - January 1
In 2011, things were supposed to get better - and they did, for some and to some degree; but a lot remains to be accomplished and that's the challenge for 2012. Every presidential candidate will have "answers," but it's really up to us to be participants in making the New Year all it can be. Happy New Year to all my readers - may it be a prosperous and safe one for you.

CARTOON of the DAY: Resolved for Michigan

Crain's Detroit Business - December 19
Governor Snyder is a believer in delegating responsibilities and holding individuals accountable for delivery on those responsibilities. For the New Year, this seems like an natural situation!
