This week is National Police Week, when we pay tribute to - and thank - all the law enforcement officers who tirelessly keep our communities, and our families, safe. Additionally, Wednesday, May 15 was National Peace Officers Memorial Day; when we remember those heroes in our midst who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our safety. This tribute ran in The News-Herald, and saluted, in particular, Downriver law enforcement officers; however, the sentiment extends to all law enforcement officers who serve and protect each and every day - thank you, and God be with you.
