Crain's Detroit Business - January 18
The North American International Auto Show always gets the New Year off to a great start for us metro Detroiters (well, maybe not last year ...). The 2010 edition features "Electric Avenue" - a showcase of electric vehicles that are road-read, and the "EcoXperience," a landscaped road coarse in the basement of Cobo Center that allows NAIAS visitors to ride in some of the electric vehicles on display upstairs. I took the EcoXperience during Press Days and found the landscaping distracting - I would have rather just had a straight-away (without the trees and waterfalls) where I could have just opened up a few of those electrics!
That's the Point!
Off the Drawing Board: Another idea I offered my editors at Crain's Detroit Business for the January 18 edition was this one. I was fuming over the news story about NFL players worrying about a lockout in 2011, and their potential "labor woes," when there are thousands of union workers on layoff throughout the metro Detroit area struggling to make mortgage payments and feed their families. Those, dear readers, are real woes!
