Crain's Detroit Business - April 1 |
As I have Sheldon saying in this week's
Crain's Detroit Business editorial cartoon - we can count on Dan Gilbert to shed light in the darkness. A vibrant retail district downtown is particularly exciting to me and members of my generation. I grew up "hanging out" at Hudson's (there weren't any malls yet), devouring "Big Sandy" burgers at the downtown Sander's lunch counter (then enjoying a cream puff hot fudge for dessert), and riding the wooden escalator at Crowley's. I'm not fondly wishing for a "return" of anything - just cheering for what's to come.
That's the Point!
