Detroit pizza icon Mike Ilitch, already owner of the MLB Detroit Tigers and the NHL Detroit Red Wings, is in the process of purchasing the NBA Detroit Pistons; fueling speculation that he will eventually move the Pistons from their current home - The Palace of Auburn Hills - to a new (yet to be built) dual-purpose facility in Detroit to house both the Wings and the Pistons. That, however, will take a LOT of dough - and NOT the kind you use for pizza crust. In this economy he can't count on taxpayer help, so Mr. I may "knead" another source of funding.
